650 Divisadero hearing postponed

Hi Rob,

Awesome News!

Thanks to our community organizing, the Planning Commission heard our concerns, and today it voted to postpone the hearing for 650 Divisadero!

We won this battle, but we still need a commitment for more on-site affordable units on Divisadero from the developer of 650 Divisadero. Stay tuned as we continue to work for more affordable housing for our neighborhood!

Thank you for all you have done so far, your letters to the Commission made a difference. There's no need to show up at City Hall today, since this item won't be heard, we will organize for the next hearing once we know the details.

Thank you!

Gus Hernandez
Chair, Affordable Divis Steering Committee

Muni: Jobs program or transit agency?

The SFMTA, aka "Muni," is apparently more of a jobs program than a transit agency. Even though it now has 6,263 employees, it can't maintain the NextBus system (SF board president calls for answers in Muni’s NextBus meltdown)

Those workers were apparently too busy getting art on Muni vehicles and collecting old pictures of the system---and blogging about that and the agency's lame "Peace Campaign."

The guy in charge of the system is sorry:

Last week, San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency Director of Transit Ed Reiskin[$305,000 a year] apologized for the NextBus outage during an SFMTA board meeting.
