Trigger alert for San Francisco progressives!

A message from Pamela Geller:

We won...again

Last April, we submitted our now-famous Islamic antisemitism ad to run on San Francisco buses to counter the vicious Jew-hatred campaigns that are run across the country by groups like the American Muslims for Palestine.

This ad will be going up on 50 buses in San Francisco.

Our ads were refused by the SFMTA and their sales agent TITAN. We have spent the last months fighting these opponents of free speech. Today I write you about the excellent news of our magnificent victory.

The transit authority wanted us to remove a historical photo demonstrating the alliance between Hitler and the leader of the Muslim world, Haj Mohammed Effendi Amin el-Husseini. We would not scrub the truth about jihad from our ads. The media and the culture have scrubbed the truth from the information battlespace; it's the reason why we run our ads.

Rob's comment:

People at KALW were perplexed about the ads: Why are there anti-Muslim ads on our public buses? Turns out that there's some kind of darn First Amendment---KALW didn't capitalize it---loophole that allows people to say things that upset anti-Semites and their clueless progressive enablers:

“You know, the ads are offensive and terrible,” says Nasrina Bargzie with the Asian Law Caucus. “We work very closely with members of the Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim and South Asian communities, and the way we found out about them is literally people just started calling and texting me. They're calling Muslim people ‘savages.’ What are we gonna do about this?” The first AFDI ad appeared on a Muni bus in 2012. It read: “in any war between the civilized man and a savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel, defeat Jihad.”

Of course the ad referred to violent jihad, not Muslims, though, not coincidentally, all violent jihadists are Muslims. But when your mind is clogged with delusional political and religious ideas---and ignorant of the First Amendment to our Constitution---it's apparently hard to read and comprehend simple English.

Recall that San Francisco went through this First Amendment teaching opportunity more than two years ago. Maybe our schools don't teach the Constitution---or how to read---any more.

Religion and morality: Who are the good people?

Catholic Andrew Sullivan is dismayed by Christian support for torture:

The staggering levels of support for torture by Christians merely reveals that very few of them are Christians at all. Torture is not a gray area for Christians. It is the darkest stain there is. And the fact that 65 percent of white Catholics back torture tells you a lot about the terribly weak leadership of the bishops on this core and central issue. They were more interested in how to stop women getting contraceptives than standing up and being counted on torture.

Only those Americans who have no religion understand that torture is not justified. I'm not surprised.

The NY Times: Prosecute torturers and their bosses.
