What's Jim Herd afraid of?

I've wondered before why Jim Herd, editor of SF Citizen, is too timid to put his name on his lame posts about t-shirts and Meat Day.

What's he afraid of? The answer: like many other anonymous bloggers and contributors to local chatboards, if Herd put his name on his posts, people would know how little of interest he has to say.

Herd of course is a bike guy and got his spandex knickers in a twist about our successful litigation that forced the city to follow the law and do an EIR on the Bicycle Plan.

The anonymous Herd bravely calls me "Crazy Rob" Anderson on Citizen and defends the slur by claiming that he's simply quoting someone else, who of course is also unidentified.

The other day I posted a comment from someone who likes my blog, which set Herd off on a new round of slurs. The idea that there are people who actually like District 5 Diary evidently pushed Herd over the edge again.

Unlike SFCitizen, the thing about District 5 Diary is that there's never any doubt about who's responsible for the posts; my name is right on top for all to see.

Herd won an award from District 5 Diary in 2008 for being so chickenshit. He could win it two years in a row, but he has a lot of competition for the prize here in Progressive Land:

Punk with a Computer of the Year: San Francisco Citizen
Jim Herd, behind the SFCitizen blog (
http://sfcitizen.com/blog/), is defiantly anonymous, which is fine as long as you post pretty pictures of birds and innocuous items about this and that around town. But when you go out of your way to insult someone, it's tough to justify anonymity. Nevertheless SFCitizen insisted on justifying calling me "Crazy" Rob Anderson in several items.

Based on his intense interest in all things bike-related, SFCitizen is apparently a bike guy, and, like a lot of the city's bike people who comment on this blog, he's too chickenshit to put his name on his insults. He can't even bring himself to put his name on his lame posts to SFCitizen, his own blog!
