The groovy people plot the destruction of the city

At first glance I thought the woman looked familiar on the front page of this morning's Chronicle. She's leading the Dykes on Bikes contingent in a motorcycle. Sure enough, the caption identifies her as "AnMarie Rodgers," who, as it happens, is one of the principal planners behind the Planning Department's blueprint for destroying the heart of San Francisco, the Market and Octavia Neighborhood Plan.

But Rodgers is a lesbian and an official groovy person here in Progressive Land, even though, while on the job for the people of the city, she's plotting the creation of a "vibrant" part of town that, among other things, will include 40-story highrises that will cast shadows on the Civic Center. How cool is that?
