Memo to Trump: Actual "witch hunts" in early America

They didn't burn those accused of witchcraft in days of yore; they hung them. 

Unlike Trump, the accused weren't merely criticized. They were killed in an hysterical religous social context that made it happen.

And the killers were prominent members of the Christian community, now an important part of the Republican political base.
