How greedy UC shut down the Extension

A message from Eliza Hemenway:

My film is finally finished, and the Roxie Film Center is hosting a special preview screening. So mark your calenders, invite a friend and spread the word: Roxie Film Center, 3117 16th St., San Francisco. One night only! Thursday, November 16, 6:30 PM Special preview screening of "Uncommon Knowledge: Closing the Books at UC Berkeley Extension," a film documenting the abrupt closure of UC Extension's Laguna Street campus in San Francisco. The screening will be followed by a discussion about the University of California''s controversial plans to convert the historic six-acre campus into a profitable private development, permanently ending public use on the site. Guest speakers include producer and director Eliza Hemenway, best-selling author Gray Brechin ("Imperial San Francisco: Urban Power, Earthly Ruin"), and Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi. For more information about the film, visit http://www.hemenwaydocs.com/ It should be a lively and informative evening. Hope to see you there!
