Sheriff Mirkarimi on the job
Radio station KALW followed Sheriff Mirkarimi around on his daily rounds. Seems like the Murk is doing just fine as sheriff. He even has women as Chief of Staff and as Undersheriff:
It’s 8:30am---time for the daily meeting with his Chief of Staff, Kathy Gorwood, Undersheriff Ellen Brinn, and Assistant Sheriff Paul Miyamoto. Mirkarimi waves them into his office and sits behind a large wooden desk. His team sits in front of him with papers in hand. Mirkarimi says, “If you think about 50,000 people come through or have contact with the San Francisco jail system in a given year---sooner or later they will all get out, many are short-termers but repeat offenders”...
