On of the laws make an oration illegal. Difference between blue and red states is abortion at anytime up until birth and an abortion within 15 weeks. Not against abortion but against using it as birth control. 16-18 types of birth control options exist including condoms. From the post yeah obviously no one is against abortion. But what cnn should be asking how many support abortion at anytime and or how many support abortion within the first 15 weeks. Then you’ll get a true answer bypassing liberal bullshit.
Forcing women and girls to give birth to children they don't want seems like a political loser out front, even without the implausible religious "Pro-life" argument. Abortion, guns, climate change, and homophobia. That's the Republican Party's clear policy agenda going into the 2024 election.
The Republican Party is the crackpot party, since their base is composed of religious fanatics, gun nuts, homophobes, and those who deny the significance of climate change, even as Ron DeSantis's Florida is submerged by a rising sea level.
By the way, I'm an old man who grew up in the Bay Area, and I've never known a woman who was so cavalier to see abortion as a form of birth control. Before so-called medical abortions using mifepristone, actual surgical abortion was---still is---major surgery and dangerous. Becoming pregnant was a personal crisis that could mean a risky trip to Mexico or a risky operation in the US.
But this is part of right-wing mythology, that young women who got pregnant were sluts who shouldn't be having sex anyhow!
No one is being forced. And if it’s that “risky” why is it being pushed so hard as birth control? You say you grew up in the Bay Area so I’m sure your schools at the time offered a sex ed class and they discussed birth control. 99% of pregnancies are because of lack of sexual education, access to contraception, or mistake lack of sexual education, access to contraception, or mistake. How difficult is it to stop at the nearest gas station and pick up a pack of condoms for $5? Not doing so is a personal choice.
The main issue here which have avoided is abortion within the first 3 months or anytime during pregnancy up to giving birth.
The rest of your gibberish is all irrelevant.
You're comment shows you're muddled on the issue. The "force" is applied when options are limited legally or by complicated practical considerations.
All the "push" on this issue is by opponents of birth control, that is, religious and political crackpots, mostly in the Repugnant Party. Mifepristone is apparently safe. Condoms aren't perfectly safe and can be an awkward nuisance to use. What conservatives have always opposed is sex outsife of marriage, a reality that still contamnates their approach to contraception.
No, of course there was no reality-based sex education in Marin County schools in the 1950s. Instead we got lectures on the dangers of Communism.
So one reason for abortion is that condoms are “an awkward nuisance”. Abortions being used as birth control. My point exactly.
“Options limited legally”
“Awkward“ condoms are one out of 18 available birth control options. Although I’ve heard there are 42-58 birth control options out there. Sticking to 18 which all work how many options do you think a state would need? 3? 2? 5? To say options are limited means nothing. There are 10 different medications out there for diabetes. Most doctors prescribe one, metformin. So you know how many medications exist in the country to dissolve gallstones in your gallbladder? Just one and it works. How many types of gasoline do you need to run a car? We have two many options running the entire world. To say “limited” is totally bs. The number of options is totally irrelevant. If it works it works. Your personal feelings on republicans do not “muddle” any of these facts.
