The new America: "separate and unequal"
To the editor:
The Supreme Court's reversal of Roe v. Wade will have minimal to no impact on the ability of wealthy women to obtain an abortion. However, women who reside in states where abortion is outlawed and do not have the financial means to travel to states where the procedure is legal will have limited to no choice.
The court's decision is the new American separate and unequal.

It’s not “outlawed” nor illegal.
Technically it's not illegal in a number of states, but this disclaimer shows what access is like in practice: "While abortion is legal in this state, aggressive state restrictions make abortion extremely difficult and time-consuming to access." Also clinics that used to perform abortions are closing in these states.
Instead of disingenuous semantic camouflage, please explain why this is a good thing.
