1. What is your position on rent control?
I have mixed feelings on rent control. On the one hand, clearly some people need help with the rent. On the other hand, it's unfair to put that burden on small property owners. We're riding the tiger now, and we need how to figure out how to get off without hurting those who really are in need.

2. Do you believe that owner-occupied buildings of 1 to 4 units should be subject to the same regulations as absentee owners of large buildings?
No, I don't.

3. What is your opinion of means testing for rent control?
I support means testing.

4. Do you favor the limitation or repeal of the Ellis Act?
Yes: X No

5. Do you believe that property owners have an absolute right to move into their property?
Yes X No__

6. Would you support a ballot initiative allowing 100% owner occupied buildings to bypass the condo conversion lottery? Yes ____ No_______
Maybe, but I'd need to know more about the idea.

7. What is your position on Chris Daly's Tenant Harassment Ordinance on this November's Ballot?
I don't often support anything Daly proposes. I've read his proposed ordinance, and it does seem punitive toward landlords. Daly's assumption apparently is that the ordinance is required to address widespread abuse of tenants by landlords. I don't know that that is true and would be interested in hearing your views on the issue.

8. Do you believe property owners should be able to raise rents at the same rate as the increase in the cost of living (CPI)?
Yes, I do.

You may be invited to an interview for further discussion on these matters.
