Jake McGoldrick: Profile in lameness
Supervisor McGoldrick provides his District 1 constituents with periodic bulletins about his doings and opinions in the Sunset Beacon. In the September edition, McGoldrick provides them with guidance on Propostitions A, C, F, and P but, oddly, omits any discussion of Proposition K, which would legalize prostitution in the city.
This is odd because McGoldrick is termed out on the Board of Supervisors, he's long advocated the legalization of prostitution, and even signed the petition to get the measure on the ballot. Why would he be coy about supporting Prop. K? Is he contemplating running for higher office and worried about his neighborhood base?
Earlier hypocrisy by McGoldrick: he's pushed the Bicycle Coalition's agenda vigorously while a supervisor, but he's too busy, you understand, to ride a bike---or even the bus---to work.

Recognising the benefits of cycling is not hypocracy.
The hypocrisy comes from the fact that McGoldrick, as much as any other supervisor, pushed the Bicycle Plan through the process, and he not only doesn't ride a bike but he won't even ride Muni to work in our Transit First city. That is, this stuff is fine for the rest of us but he's too important/busy to do it himself.
Jake actually does ride a bike, Rob. He just doesn't use one to commute on. Maybe he thinks it's too dangerous. Maybe you have something in common...
