I haven't read much of the late Cormac McCarthy's work---I have that to look forward to!---but I enjoyed Blood Meridian and No Country for Old Men.
Unlike most movies based on books, the Coen brothers' movie of No Country is worthy of the novel.

He was one of our Greatest American Writers. I was sickened by that hack Stephen King to mention his name in a public statement about the loss. Cormac wrote books for readers King writes books for the barely literate.
