The mom abandoned her husband and other children to take her almost 2 yo daughter to the border. Paid $6,000 to human traffickers to bring her across, and was never separated from her daughter. Oh, and she was previously caught and deported to Honduras where the family has a middle class life. As a repeat offender, crossing illegally is a felony. The woman only wanted a more prosperous life. Wasn't about safety. UK press actually interviewed the father and got the facts instead of US press making up a story. Oh, and kids cry a lot. My neighbor's 4 year old cries when he is told its bedtime. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5869829/Father-two-year-old-face-child-separation-crisis-speaks-out.html
Okay, even if that's true about this family, is it typical? What about the more than 2,000 children still separated from their families?
Today from the most contemptible president we've ever had:
"President Trump on Sunday explicitly advocated depriving undocumented immigrants of their due-process rights, arguing that people who cross the border into the United States illegally must immediately be deported without trial — and sowing more confusion among Republicans ahead of a planned immigration vote this week.
In a pair of tweets sent during his drive to his Virginia golf course, Trump described immigrants as invaders and wrote that U.S. immigration laws are “a mockery” and must be changed to take away trial rights from undocumented migrants..."

As usual Trump is playing to his contemptible Fox News base, since the border isn't really in a new crisis: Is the Border in Crisis? ‘We’re Doing Fine, Quite Frankly,’ a Border City Mayor Says
The right link to that NY Times story.
