Beautiful view from an ugly building

In yesterday's Chronicle, Sam Whiting threw a much-deserved bouquet to the Harmon Observation Tower at the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park. The view is spectacular from the tower, but from the outside it doesn't look any better than the ugly de Young itself. The video above carefully avoids a long view of the look-at-me work by Herzog de Meuron.
