The Mavi Marmara: Another ideological victory over reality

The power of "progressive" ideology triumphs over reality again. The lefties at Fog City are convinced that Israel was in the wrong on the flotilla fiasco, even though the videos of the fatal boarding of the Mavi Marmara clearly show that an armed mob was waiting for the Israeli commandos as they came down the rope from the helicopter.

Interesting to note that Fog City didn't provide a link to the video showing the mob pouncing on the Israelis and beating them with metal bars. The security cameras on the ship were on before the boarding showing the mob---the video above---getting its weapons ready---the metal bars, broken bottles, slingshots, etc.

Our progressive Board of Supervisors, which naturally shares this delusional sense of reality, has prepared a resolution condemning Israel for its "military attack on the Freedom Flotilla," even though the footage shows the exact opposite.

This resolution will join the shameful resolution the Board of Supervisors passed five years ago calling for a new trial for cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal.

As is so often the case, Christopher Hitchens is a good guide to what's happening in the Middle East.

Not surprising that a Turkish journalist cropped knives out of the pictures of the so-called peace activists.

Last time I looked Israel was a sovereign nation and as such should be able to take actions it deems necessary to protect itself...whatever strategy supports its internal security. If I would have to hazard a guess it would be that a full third of people on the flotilla would want to Jewish State to disappear.

Christopher "Hitch" also supported the 2nd invasion of Iraq and Bush, but that's history. You wouldn't trust Ross or Chris? Did you hear Ross "debate" prop.16 on KQED? He said how proud he was of our water and that it was evidence of how well SF can manage a resource. Somehow neglected how the upkeep on the delivery system was a disaster, didn't remember the bottled water fiasco at city hall. It was like talking to someone in the health department about how what we put into the water dissolves rubber(what is that black slime in the bathtub? Chloramine. Check out the New Republic for balance. The only magazine that will argue with itself-sometimes.

Hitchens is good on the Middle East because he doesn't give the Islamic assholes any slack. God no, I don't trust Mikarimi or Daly on foreign policy, or anything else, for that matter. Typical delusional progs, their minds stuffed full of half-baked ideology and misinformation. Yes, the New Republic is good; I still get the hard copy, plus it's also available online.
