Kamala Harris and high-speed rail

Kamala Harris signs on to HSR

[Later: That's not Kamala Harris above. It's Governor Brown's wife.]
The dumb high-speed rail project is bound to be an issue in the 2020 election, since it's the only important issue Republicans are right about. And it's an important issue only because it's such a huge project.

The official price tag is now $77 billion, but even that is surely an under-estimate.

Recall that the price tag for the Famous Bridge to Nowhere project in Alaska was a mere $398 million.

Kamala Harris, pictured above signing onto the project in January, 2015, better start formulating a response to the inevitable criticism she will get on the issue.

She affirmed her support for the project during her campaign for the senate.

Actually, the above story is about how hard Senator Harris worked to get money to electrify Caltrain, a much more defensible project that was/is part of the larger project that Governor Newsom, alasis apparently determined to continue.

I will vote for whoever the Democrats nominate, including Harris, since any Democrat will be much, much better than anyone the Repugs nominate.

$736million of the gas tax goes to this. And not one road has been fixed.
