Thanks for posting this. This shows exactly why Vision Zero is a failed ideology and waste of money - stupid people will ignore even the most exotic and expensive attempts to make them safer.

It's really about the tendency of all of us to at least occasionally indulge in, in Commander Ali's memorable words, "really bad behavior." We all do it sometimes---jaywalk, try to beat the light, exceed the speed limit, etc.

What's annoying---intellectually insulting, actually---is the pretense that Vision Zero is more than a slogan, an aspiration, that it's a sensible city policy. We won't get to zero fatalities on city streets in 2124, let alone 2014, though then maybe we can blame "collisions" on driverless cars and buses, which means lots of business for tort lawyers determining who's liable.
