Yes, it's bizarre. See page 64 of this document, where we learn that the city wants to spend more than $600 million on the bicycle fantasy.

$108M more going into bike-share? That means bike share isn't (self) sustainable, doesn't it? Avis, Hertz, Zipcar don't have their hands out to buy vehicles and depots.

$600 million. almost sounds reasonable next to the $1billion-plus to make Market Street "better"

Those Ford bike share 'stands' or 'racks'..(whatever) were installed outside my window at work on Folsom St. and my home on Valencia. Despite watching them 16-18h hours a day, I have yet to see a single person use one!

Heard someone refer to them as: "The New Bilight" lol
