Language gone awry

Burr "slays" Hamilton

What's wrong with plain old "kills"? Maybe the writer thought that common term wasn't good enough for such an important "slaying."

"In-depth science tours departing soon"
I bet this was just notifying people that the tours were "leaving." Maybe the writer also meant in-depth tours were available better than the regular, shallower tours on offer. Probably not.

Okay, this refers to what is now increasingly an archaic reality when prostitutes, aka "sex workers," were commonly on the street in some neighborhoods to find customers. I suspect this business is now more often arranged online, though I have no personal experience to verify that.
