No ventilators were requested and no one has died. Florida is doing just fine. However back in California a friend of mine recently passed away from heart failure. Soon receiving the death certificate his brother noticed that Covid had been put down as cause of death. When returning to the hospital to fix cause of death the hospital refused.
Really? That may be the view inside the right-wing bubble, but the reality is otherwise:
"....In the data Tuesday, the CDC said deaths[in Florida from COVID-19] increased by 54 over three days, including 17 Saturday and 21 Sunday. On Monday, the state didn't dispute fatality totals. In Monday's report by the state, the increase was 239 for two days.
With the change in reporting methods, there were differences Friday with the CDC than the state's weekly report on Friday, which showed 39,694 deaths. The CDC has a figure of 40,113.
The most updated cumulative figure is 40,167, in fourth place behind California, New York and Texas, with a total of 277 over seven days...."
California isn't doing so great. But most new infections and deaths are among the unvaccinated, that is, mostly members of the Republican Party's political base.
The good news is not slow growth but the decline of the white population in the US, which has a terrible history of racism. Only a more multi-racial society can put an end to that here in the US.

No cure for stupidity!
Here's some good news: 2020 Census shows slow growth and declining white population.
