Parklets
Letter to the editor in today's SF Chronicle:
Parklets are unfair. They are unfair to the bookstore, dress shop, dry cleaners, etc. They take away parking the other merchants need. They only help the adjacent restaurants.
It’s time to return to pre-pandemic numbers.

They are not returning to anything. Those are now allowed to be permanent. Most business owners are too stupid to understand parking is important.
That being said if you have a parklet in front of your business you can ask them to removing or have public works do it. Unless the next door business owner or landlord for that location has given them permission. These parklets have completely killed the streets.
You think parklets are a problem for local businesses, just wait until congestion pricing is implemented. Of course voters won't have a say in this matter but it will happen anyway. Utter be.
Voters had their say. As always they just never read the small print of any measure. For example prop k. Instead of fixing what’s broken with transportation it’s more like change everything and redesign as the fix
Voters have never had a direct "say" on these anti-car policies, beginning with the Bicycle Plan way back in 2005/2006. The Bicycle Coalition and its enablers in City Hall knew that if this stuff was put on the ballot they would likely lose.
So we're going to get it whether we like it or not.
