Republicans defend their leader

Letter to the editor in today's SF Chronicle:

Regarding “The art of destroying the deal” (Editorial, Dec. 24):

As per usual, The Chronicle editorial staff cherry-picked its commentary about President Trump to make him out to be the villain of the virus package.

The truth was best spoken by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy: “Congress chose to ignore the tax dollars wasted overseas while so many Americans are struggling at home.”

The pork spending is in fact what President Trump has complained about and why he may veto the bill.

The current stimulus bill sent to the desk of the president includes nearly $400 million to be spent in such places as Cambodia, the West Bank and Myanmar. How does this aid one American out of work?

It is a fact that at least 40 times now the Republicans have attempted to pass stimulus legislation only to be turned down by House Majority leader Nancy Pelosi.

I say kudos to President Trump for putting America first.

Rob's comment:
If President Trump was so concerned about "pork spending" and including $2,000 payments to individuals in the legislation, why did he wait until the bipartisan legislation was passed by Congress before speaking up?

The answer: Because he wasn't concerned at all about the virus relief that millions of Americans need. Trump just didn't like being crowded out of the news cycle by the bipartisan success story while he was busy trying to sell his lie about election fraud.

Typical that Kilpatrick parrots the party line from Kevin McCarthy, that the virus relief package contains foreign aid, which of course is often "wasted" on them undeserving foreigners and never in the national interest.

The reality: Republicans and Democrats were too far apart to seriously negotiate before the recent bipartisan, "centrist" proposal broke the impasse.

The virus aid legislation was then attached to an omnibus spending bill to keep the government open. The foreign aid was never part of the bipartisan virus relief deal.

Trump was also busy pardoning his criminal accomplices and the American mercenaries who murdered 17 Iraqi civilians: Trump's most disgusting pardons.

Because Congress never goes to the White house with a bunch of noteBooks to go over things with the president. Government does not work that way. it’s a 6000 page document that needs to be read first. If you ever took the time to read anything you would know reading 6000 pages takes a lot of time.

Many businesses have shut down and continue to close for good because of shit downs. businesses are behind on rent. Many residents in cities are also behind on their rent. Many people are out of work

Yes wasted.

$10 million for gender programs in Pakistan. Only a dumb ass would believe Pakistan would allow gender studies.

$101 million to combat the transnational threat of wildlife poaching and trafficking

$2.5 million for Internet freedom programs in closed societies. Who gives a fuck about the internet in China? Comcast in the city sucks as it is.

$85.5 million aid to Cambodia

Another $14 billion to the subways of New York. For what? Convert the seats to much needed Covid hospital beds?

You have many more millions going to counting fish in the Gulf of Mexico. Millions going towards Protection of some other type of fish. Many more millions going towards studying the effects of down trees because hey are too stupid to realize that the effects are called wild fires. The list goes on and on. To many details to list but I will if I have to.
Consider this while only offering Americans $600.

Your like the neighbors little punk kid that talks his shit from the window that everybody wants to slap. Your entire comment to that post is a deflection of the facts and the specific point of stupid spending by the democrats because they don’t give a fuck.

100% wasted.

Pelosi held out for the majority of this year as to not give Trump a win. Now we have a nine hundred billion package with only two billion going to Americans. McCarthy Is correct.
