Colorado, SF: "Imposing traffic congestion on people"

From Randal O'Toole:

Both the governor[of Colorado] and his transportation director believe that bike paths, transit, and high-speed rail are more important than roads. According to Polis, CDOT’s goal should be to “focus on reducing traffic,” not on accommodating traffic with new capacity. He and Lew have held a series of public meetings on transportation, which Lew calls “a bottom-up approach.”

No, holding meetings with people who already agree with you so you can justify imposing congestion on people is very much a top-down approach. A bottom-up approach would be to see how people are actually traveling and then provide the means for them to do so.

They also want to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by requiring the sale of more electric cars, which doesn’t make much sense in a state that gets most of its electricity from burning fossil fuels

But, hey, if you want something to make sense, you hire an engineer, not a historian.

Not only impose congestion pricing but raise our taxes to pay for the infrastructure. Fuck you out of your own money for more of your money.

13 measures coming up in SF all have to do with taxes. But you must read it’s full text to really understand what’s going on. One example is a measure for schools. They make it seem all nice and dandy helping the schools for the future of our students and so on. But that’s bullshit. It’s more to remove parking at and around schools adding a bus lane bike lane changing pick up lines. All extra taxes for more dumb projects. Prices of your groceries will be going up as well.
If people are dumb enough to vote for measures that fuck you out of parking and driving leaving homeless and needles on the streets then they should be able to deal with it. The problem is they vote for all of this shit then hate it and end up moving out to Texas fucking up the city.
