How the city "improved" the Twin Peaks neighborhood

My name is Gary Russ and I have begun mobilizing neighbors living near the intersection of Twin Peaks Blvd and Burnett Avenue.

As you likely know, some months ago, the City designated Twin Peaks Blvd. a Slow Street and then closed it to all vehicle traffic which has driven into our neighborhood crime, intense traffic, illegal parking, traffic congestion, huge amounts of litter and late-night noisy alcohol/drug fueled partying.

The City failed to conduct any sort of environmental review before unilaterally closing off Twin Peaks Blvd with zero neighborhood input. Further, the City’s action in this regard fails to meet its own criteria for how streets get designated as Slow Streets.

I notice you name factors prominently in the Board of Supervisors’ Notice of Public Hearing scheduled on September 1. As you can imagine, many, many of my neighbors have very strong feelings about the City closing Twin Peaks Blvd and many of us plan to be heard that day.

My Best,

Gary R. Russ

Mr. Russ is apparently referring to the project described in this Public Comment.
