Demonstrating is not politics

As Joe Biden says, "Rioting is not demonstrating." 

And demonstrating is not politics. Fighting local police on the streets should stop now, since it only helps Trump and the Republicans politically.

If demonstrations continue past any sensible political point, they become about the demonstrators themselves, a kind of virtue signaling and political narcissism.

When the demonstrating in effect becomes about you and your comrades, it's time to stop. Go home, get involved in voter registration or some other useful political action.

What's apparently happening in Oakland and Portland: anti-racism demonstrations have been hijacked by violent, ultra-left White Punks in Black who don't really believe in peaceful protest.
