The pandemic shows us how to fix Muni

From an email message this morning:

"From the Muni service that has remained during the past few months, we’ve seen just how much quicker public transit can be when there’s no traffic: 15% time savings systemwide, up to 50% along some corridors.

Notably, bus routes with red lanes didn’t change much, meaning transit-only lanes work."

Rob's comment:
From The Onion? Don Asmussen? Nope, it's a presumably serious message from San Francisco Riders lauding Muni's efficiency during the pandemic.

Imagine too how fast Muni buses could move if they didn't have to stop for those pesky passengers! It also shows that bus-only lanes work really well.

And Vision Zero: When there's no cyclists, pedestrians, and cars on city streets, no one gets injured or killed. 2024, here we come!
