...Harris’ uneven performance in the campaign, especially her fumbling on healthcare, drove her poll ratings down and she never recovered.An early supporter of “Medicare for all,” a touchstone for progressive candidates, Harris said in January that she wanted to eliminate private health insurance, but then quickly backed away from that position, leaving many voters unclear on where she stood. When she released her full healthcare agenda months later, her failure to explain it clearly on a debate stage raised still more doubts about how she would approach this top issue for many Democrats...

As a Democrat, I'll vote for whoever the Democrats nominate for president, since any Democrat would be much better than the moron in the White House---or anyone else the Repugs might nominate. But if Kamala Harris somehow got the nomination, Republican opposition research would have quickly discovered some problems in her record.
That she raised her hand to endorse eliminating private health insurance and then backtracked showed she hadn't thought it through. If people like their private insurance plan, why force them to give it up?
Her support for California's dumb high-speed rail project would have been another issue used against her.
When she was SF District Attorney, the position she took on the Josh Wolf case would have been shown as clearly unacceptable in a national political campaign.
And then there was the Daniel Larsen case.

Kam was and still is an empty jumpsuit. To this day i cannot believe she is a Senator. But obviously any elected office can be filled with a nitwit.
She's not a nitwit. She just didn't have an issue/agenda to distinguish herself from a pretty deep bunch of candidates.
