McGuire is my Senator from my town.
He's very pretty, very charismatic, and devoid of policy chops.
His big accomplishment of his first term was getting legislation passed to bail out the North Coast Railroad, and turn the land over for a bike path from Willits to Eureka, that would cost $100M. I'm a dedicated cyclist but that's a waste of everyone's money. You know that land Rob, aside from the fact few would ride it, the trail will repeatedly fall into the earth.
And in doing so, the people holding NCRA's debt were made whole. Who were they? McGuire's patrons, bailed out with interest by the people of California.
Do a post on that.
Read any of the recent articles on how Roy Cohn kissed up to real estate developers and especially a young Donald Trump and you can see why Safety School Scotty (like Cohn gay lawyer) kisses up to those developers, to paraphrase Willie Sutton who, when asked why he robbed banks answered: Because that's where the money is.
