A "standard" that includes instructions from the White House to limit the investigation. Wray is just another chickenshit bureaucrat afraid that he'll be fired. Harris finally got it out of him, since "she persisted."
You are incorrect. Harris being a former attorney general knows for a fact all BACKGROUND investigations are always limited in scope. She asked about the background investigation then proceeded to ask if it was "limited in scope" already knowing the answer. Which means limited to background.
I'm sure you feel good inside when reading statements that take a jab at trump or the White House. Your rose bush begins to bloom, Jerry Garcia' ghost may visit you to smoke a joint or maybe even share some ice cream with you. That's all nice and dandy but nobody cares.
The senate judiciary committee cannot order the FBI to investigate backgrounds on nominees. Only any president of the United States. The senate sends in a detailed request. What they would like to be investigated and so on. It is review by the White House then the order of yes or no is given.
