Whatever happened to Tys Sniffen?

The NOPNA website gives us a link telling us what happened to Tys Sniffen, former candidate for supervisor in District 5. Sniffen has apparently dropped out and gone rural on us. Even though he evidently found my blog annoying, he was reluctant to engage on the issues.

Rob, just googled myself to try and find something from 2003 and found this comment. While I have ‘gone rural’ you know that saying I was ‘reluctant to engage on issues’ is bullshit. You sending ? Writing? Out one blog post and me not replying back isn’t exactly ‘reluctant to engage’ on issues. Has SF completely fallen apart due to all the bikes yet? All that affordable housing ruining everything?

I responded in detail to the claims you made in your message to me. I never got a response and assumed you saw my answer and chose to ignore it.

The bike fantasy was never a mortal threat to the city, just a persistent annoyance that makes traffic worse and driving harder here. Turns out that riding a bike in SF is still not as popular as the Bicycle Coalition and City Hall had hoped it would be.

And affordable housing is still scarce. Who would pay for it? is a question that's still unanswered.
