H. Brown hears bells

H:

That bastard Hellman! He's got a lot of nerve, giving the city an 800-space, $40 million underground garage! To cap it off, he has the chutzpah---that's what the Jews call it, H---to bankroll a great musical festival in the park every year for another $2 million. Clearly a sinister figure. Of course there's no evidence that he has anything to do with the Cala location---or with the parking changes on Stanyan, for that matter---but one can always indulge in fact-free speculation. Thanks for sharing.

This one definitely needs some study. I can't find any living entity called 'Stanyan LLC' who took out the request to crush Cala. Closest is the hotel up the street. What comes up is that the Cala parcel is mostly cross-referenced as a 'destination parking lot'. Any bells going off? Once you make parking within a half mile of [Warren] Hellman's garage illegal, those CALA spots will need a parking guard. Unless it's already another Hellman orbit Mafia (we don't exist) garage.
